Deli Spreading Out (Clarion Ledger)
(The Clarion Ledger February 28, 2008) Ridgeland-based McAlister’s Deli, which began nearly two decades ago with a single eatery in Oxford, expects to add 52 new restaurants this year and expand into New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
“At the end of the year we might be around 290 restaurants,” said Philip Friedman, chairman and chief executive officer of McAlister’s Deli. “If all things work, we might get to 300 this year.
“We’ve already opened 12 new restaurants so far,” Friedman said. “We’ve opened in Colorado, which is a new state for us, and by the end of the year will be in Utah.” Read more
